Production Functions and the Analysis of Qualitative Factors in Growth
The transition of our country' s national economy to primarily intensive development poses a number of serious problems to Soviet economists. Among them is, in particular, the study of the economic role of "qualitative" factors in the growth of production: science and scientific-technical progress, education, management, etc., the joint action of which promotes the intensification of economic development. In research of this type the production function can be one of the instruments used in analyzing qualitative factors in growth, assuming that the production function is correctly interpreted and that its role in economic analysis is properly understood.
