Public Library and Community Information Service : A Study

Information is considered as a basic input to all developmental activities. Due to information explosion massive amount of information generate every faction of time. It is very important to easy access to survive. But unequal access to information gives birth to the disadvantage community within the society. Members of such community have less information to perform their day to day activities and they also unaware of their rights and privileges. In this context Community Information Service is very essential for socio – economic development of the said community because a society cannot achieve its ultimate success avoiding the proper development of people of every section of that particular society. Public library plays an active role to disseminate information according to the need of the community to solve problems and able to aware about their social rights and privileges. But without proper planning and policies it is not possible to deliver effective CIS
