Quantum mechanical model of a plasma system: a challenge to the second law of thermodynamics
Within the framework of the theory of open quantum systems, a rigorous model is developed and applied to a previously proposed and experimentally corroborated plasma system that challenges the second law of thermodynamics (Sheehan, Phys. Plasmas 2 (1995) 1893; J. Scient. Explor. 12 (1998) 303). The results of the present model support the findings of the earlier challenge.
