Relationships between Burnout Levels and Adjustment Levels of Bank Workers

The present study aims to determine whether the burnout levels (emotional exha- ution, deparsonalization, and personal accomplishment sub-dimensions) of the bank wor- kers were significant predictors of their personal, social and general adjustment levels. This study is a relational research. The sample of the study consisted of 257 bank workers who were working in 34 branches in the centre of Eskiflehir. The data were collected by Maslach Burnout Inventory (Ergin, 1993) and Hacettepe Personality Inventory (Özgüven, 1992). Regression analyses with stepwise selection were used in analyzing the data. The findings revealed that the emotional exhaution, the deparsonalization, and the personal accomplish- ment levels of the bank workers were significant predictors of their personal, social and ge- neral adjustment levels. Also, the emotional exhaution sub-dimension was the best predic- tor of personal, social and general adjustment levels. However, the predictive values of the deparsonalization and the personal accomplishment levels were very much low.
