Renewable Sources in the Context of Energy Security of the European Union
With emphasis on new rules anchored by the Lisbon Treaty, this article discusses issues of an energy security of the European Union. The article presents comprehensive look at the sphere of the energy security and recalls the importance of this area, which stood at the very birth of the European integration. In the context of current integration proceses following text identifies the use of a renewable energy as a determining aspect of the EU energy policy. The use of the renewable energy i also identifiead as an effective solution with positive impacts on the energy security across the European Union. The aim of this article is to present a scientific knowledge from the area of the EU energy policy, with an emphasis on explaining the impact of renewables to certain aspects of the European Union´s energy security.
