RESEARCH REGARDING THE OPTIMIZATION OF THE REACTION CHAMBERS WITHIN THE WATER TREATMENT PLANTS
Reaction chambers are used in the majority of water treatment plants in Romania and abroad. These are separate or integrated constructions that are positioned at the beginning of the treatment scheme. Reaction chambers types vary by the physical-chemical parameters of raw water and their sizes vary according to the inlet flow. Considering the fact that the treatment plants’ reaction chambers are placed at the beginning of the treatment scheme, their performance directly influences downstream objects (especially clarifiers and filters). Dimensioning of the reaction chambers varies by type, but the end goal is achievement of optimum velocity gradient.
