Securing the Future of E-Learning With Web 3.0 Technologies and Cybersecurity
The internet has evolved from Web 1.0 to emerging Web 3.0. E-learning platforms have revolutionized education but face security threats. As Web 3.0 technologies integrate into e-learning, new cybersecurity concerns arise. This chapter reviews Web 3.0 and cybersecurity challenges in e-learning including data privacy, smart contract vulnerabilities, and malware. An experimental approach evaluates real-world issues in Web 3.0 e-learning. Results show decentralized technologies enhance privacy and security but vulnerabilities must be mitigated through controls and audits. User awareness is critical. A multifaceted strategy encompassing strong safeguards, training, and collaboration is required to address the cybersecurity landscape of Web 3.0-enabled e-learning. As technologies advance, cybersecurity must remain a priority to develop resilient platforms. This bridges the academic-practical gap.
