Semi-Closed Input-Output Analysis of Direct Greenhouse Gas Emissions in Australian Industrial and Household Sectors

A semi-closed environmentally-extended input-output (EEIO) model, endogenizing the household into industrial sectors to analyse the Australian direct greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Understanding the direct GHG emissions from industrial sector and household sectors can assist policy makers to facilitate effective carbon policies. This paper systematically calculates the direct and indirect effects of direct GHG emissions from industrial and household sectors, estimates the five drivers of direct GHG emission through structural decomposition analysis, and evaluate the reduction potential for direct GHG emissions in sector levels by linkage analysis
