Field work is an integral part of the total social work education. Historically, the profession of social work has been considering fieldwork as a primary means of providing students the opportunity to integrate knowledge, value and skills. In fieldwork settings, (practicum’s) students are learning by doing. Students are placed in social and human services agencies to acquire practical know how of social work and experiences working with individuals, groups, and communities. They also introduced with, contribute to the knowledge related to organizational policy, administration, legislation of social services. Students are expected to apply theoretical knowledge and skills here. For that purpose, as a part of my course plan, I was placed at Bangladesh Society for the Enforcement of Human Rights (BSEHR) under the supervision of the branch coordinator to acquire practical skill to be a skilled social worker. As an apprentice social worker, I got the opportunity to serve the poor and destitute people who came as a client from different sections of people. This report is my final report on my field practicum-containing all aspects from conceptual analysis to the duties performed in the agency. The report has been written to submit to my institute supervisor and agency supervisor. The agency may use it for reference purposes, evaluation of existing programs, limitation of the agency and checking out of future programs. The administrative authorities may use this report for finding out the working conditions and administrative gap of Bangladesh Society for the Enforcement of Human Rights (BSEHR) and take necessary actions in this regard. The institute may use this report for academic purposes. Finally, both my institute supervisor and agency supervisor would find this report very useful to evaluate my performance in the agency. The report consists of six chapters, well arranged in the coherent manner, along with conclusion and references at the end. Chapter 1 is about the “field work relevant information”, that highlights all the concepts related to social work and field practicum. Chapter 2 provides an introduction and orientation to the field work agency comprising its name, location, background, administrative structure, functions etc. Chapter 3 has been designed with ‘the assigned activities by the institute and agency’. In chapter 4, I tried to show the ‘application of social work knowledge’. In chapter 5, I tried to equip the paper with case studies that included three long cases. In Chapter 6, I tried to show the limitations during my field work practices, recommendations for improving the BSEHR’s programme to overcome these limitations. Finally, I have added references in prescribed format. It will be a great reward for me if the report could serve the purposes I have prepared it for, and the quality of field practicum in social services settings could be developed by using the report
