Some Approaches to Improving the Health of the Population and the Longer-Term Development of Russian Health Care
The authors describe the most important measures that should be enforced to reach the goals and objectives set by the government for the health-care system to ensure the necessary level of health for the population. These measures include: providing government guarantees of free medical care; developing mandatory medical insurance; accelerating innovative health-care development; improving the management and quality assurance of medical care; and many others. The authors believe that such measures will raise the population's average life expectancy to seventy-five years by 2025 compared to 67.5 years in 2007.
