Some determinants of industrial performance in Bangladesh : a preliminary analysis

The primary aim of the paper is to estimate the relative importance of various factors determining performance differentials of the manufacturing industries of Bangladesh. The cross-section data pertaining to 120 industries in 1981/82 and 96 industries in 1976/77 are used to estimate the regression equations. The results indicate that the country should concentrate on production of standardized manufactures through labour-intensive firms. (DÜI-Sen)
