Some remarks on the use of the boundary element method in transient heat conduction problems

The description of the boundary element method, B.E.M., for transient heat conduction problems is given. A simple count of the number of function evaluations concludes that the application of B.E.M. to such problems can be expensive in spite of the good accuracy.
