Statistical Evaluation of the Students' Perception of Creativity

The paper presents the results of a sample survey regarding the perception and stimuli on students' creativity. The survey was conducted within a research project on the theme of innovation of companies and demand for creative employees, developed by Al.I.Cuza University of Iasi together with Universita degli Studi di Perugia, Italy. In the observed sample there were selected students from three higher education institutions: the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration from the Academy of Economic Studies from Bucharest and the Gh. Asachi Technical University of Iasi. For the analysis of the responses to the questionnaire we used the Multiple Response Analysis and the Factorial Correspondence Analysis. The data treatment was done with the SPSS software. In their responses, the students assessed on a scale from 1 (the least important) to 5 (the most important) the characteristics of their own personality in respect of creativity, their capacities to solve a new problem, as well as the characteristics they consider defining for a creative person. The research results suggest ways to approach the creativity among students. We identified three groups of students with respect to their self-assessment of creative features: highly creative, moderately creative and little creative. The main factors that influence student's creativity are: education, academic environment, human potential. The students show their creativity both individually and in groups, the latter form being more profitable for the companies need for innovation
