Structural and Luminescence Properties of a Novel Srzrsi2o7 : Eu3+ Phosphor Potential for Pc-Wleds Application
In this study, a series of novel SrZrSi2O7:xEu3+ (x = 0.1 ≤ x ≤ 4 mol%) were successfully synthesized by high temperature conventional solid-state reaction method. Crystal structure, phase formation, surface morphology, and chemical composition of SrZrSi2O7: Eu3+ phosphor were characterized using X-Ray Diffraction, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), and Energy Dispersive X-Ray Spectroscopy (EDXS). The photoluminescence (PL) properties of Eu3+ doped SrZrSi2O7 phosphor were studied. SrZrSi2O7: Eu3+ phosphor exhibits strong absorption in the near-UV/ blue region and sharp emission peaks obtained at 595 nm and 615 nm owing due to 5D0 →7F1 and 5D0 →7F2 transition respectively of Eu3+ ions. For the different concentrations of Eu3+ ions, the optimum luminescent intensity obtains for 3 mol%. CIE coordinates [(0.621, 0.372) and (0.620, 0.379)] of SrZrSi2O7:Eu3+ phosphor indicates that the phosphor emits red color, comparable with commercial red phosphors and CCT [1556 K & 1529 K] of the phosphor represents a warm appearance. The results indicate that the prepared phosphor can be potentially applicable for warm appearance pc-WLEDs in indoor lighting applications
