Structure of quasi-2D charge-stabilized colloidal suspensions
The microstructure and thermodynamic properties of quasi-2D colloidal suspensions of charge-stabilized spherical particles are studied by integral equation methods and by Monte Carlo simulations. Depending on the experimental realization of particle monolayers there are various pair interactions to be considered. The results on the microstructure of various experimental situations are discussed; it is shown that the microstructure is sensitive to the type of the boundary conditions, which describe the experimental situation.
