Support study for the interim evaluation of Horizon 2020 : DG CONNECT activities : executive summary

This study provides evidence for, and support to, the Interim evaluation of Horizon 2020 DG CONNECT Activities. In particular, the following parts of the Programme are examined: - Excellent Science: including, FET Proactive (High-Performance Computing -hereinafter HPC; Emerging Themes and Communities - hereinafter Emerging) and FET-Open schemes; - Industrial Leadership: the specific objective LEIT ICT and the contractual Public Private Partnerships (cPPPs) within it, the Open Disruptive Innovation (ODI) part within the SME Instrument and the ICT projects within the Factories of the Future cPPP; and - Societal Challenges: the topics managed by DG CONNECT in SC1 Health, demographic change and well-being, SC6 Europe in a changing world and SC7 Secure societies, and the projects with ICT as main objective or essential enabler within SC3 Secure, clean and efficient energy, SC4 Smart green and integrated transport and SC5 Climate action, environment, resource efficiency and raw materials.
