Surface dynamics of the Wolf-Villain model for epitaxial growth in 1 + 1 dimensions
We investigated the spatiotemporal behavior of growing surfaces of the Wolf-Villain model in 1 + 1 dimensions. We measured the four physical quantities, (1) the height- height correlation function, (2) the surface fluctuation width, (3) the tilt-tilt correlation function, and (4) the height step fluctuation width by performing exclusive Monte Carlo simulations. The crossover behavior from the ∇4h-driven surface growth to the ∇2h- driven surface growth has been observed in our numerical data of the four quantities. Moreover, we found an evidence that the model belongs to the Edwards-Wilkinson universality class in the limit of long time and large system size.
