Sustainable European research infrastructures : a call for action : Commission staff working document : long-term sustainability of research infrastructures

The staff working document on long-term sustainability of research infrastructures sets the basis for a discussion with Member States and stakeholders on the measures to be taken at all levels in Europe to address RI sustainability in the medium and long-term. Sustainability of research infrastructures goes well beyond funding, and this report touches upon several dimensions which have an impact on sustainability, such as scientific excellence, skills market, socio-economic impact or innovation potential. This report is instrumental to trigger and structure the debate with RI funders, users and operators to develop and maintain a strategic and sustainable European research infrastructures ecosystem.
