Technological Progress and Structural Changes in Agriculture
One of the directions of the Party's economic strategy in the present stage is to secure such economic development as would more completely satisfy the people's needs. As emphasized in the Directives of the 24th Congress of the CPSU on the five-year plan for the development of the USSR national economy in 1971-1975, the principal target of the new five-year plan is to secure a substantial rise in the material and cultural living standard of the people based on high rates of development of all social production and on the increased effectiveness of social production. Such a turn is made possible by the entire preceding development of our national economy.
