The Adoption (Information and Tracing) Bill 2016

This Comment considers the Adoption (Information and Tracing) Bill 2016. The aim of this Bill which, at the time of submitting to SSRN, has not been enacted but is in the process of being updated in line with GDPR will place the right of an adopted person to their birth and adoption information on a statutory footing for the first time in Irish law. The Bill is complicated due, on the one hand, to data protection concerns and, on the other hand, to the constitutional implications involved
