The Impact of Free Trade Agreements on Poland's Foreign Trade in 1992-2004

The goal of this article is to investigate the impact of Poland's free trade agreements on its trade in the period of 1992-2004 using the gravity model. The empirical analysis of the determinants of bilateral trade flows reveals that most Poland's free trade agreements significantly contributed to the increase in the volume of trade. The estimates of the gravity model obtained for particular years of the sample demonstrate that the effects of free trade agreements are not immediate and often come with a few year delay from the dates of their entry into force
