The Impact of Robots on Labor Productivity and Employment : Evidence from the Three Largest Economies

This paper investigates the impacts of robot stocks on labor productivity and that of employment rate on labor markets in the three largest economies from 2006 to 2019. The verification results show that the robot stocks have significant influence on the labor productivity among all of the three countries and the positive influence is only for the USA and China, and a negative significant influence on Japan. Besides, this study indicates that the employment in all of the three countries can benefit from the adoption of robots without gender difference
