The Kansas Business Entity Transactions Act

Since the early 1990s, there has been a proliferation of different types of business entities, in Kansas an elsewhere. Presently there are four major types: corporations, limited liability companies (LLCs), partnerships (including limited liability partnerships (LLPs)), and limited partnerships (including limited liability limited partnerships). Kansas's Business Entity Transactions Act (BETA) seeks both to fill voids left between some of these entities as well as rationalize prior law with a comprehensive statute that substantively recognizes four types of entities
