The Long-Term Impact of Coaching in an Executive MBA Program

The purpose of this study was to explore the impact and sustainability of coaching on career and leadership development of students, and later, alumni in an Executive MBA (EMBA) program. The sample for this study was alumni of an EMBA program at a private university in the Southwest who graduated between December 2008 and May 2019. Seven alumni participated in the focus group and two alumni participated in personal interviews. The coding of the data resulted in three emergent themes that confirmed the positive long-term effect of coaching as part of an EMBA program. Recommendations are provided based on the findings and limitations, along with suggestions for future research are discussed
