The macroeconomic effect of nontraditional exports in Peru

Focussing on the economic impact of Peruvian external relations, the article provides some background on how the country came to live under lasting stagflation. Three periods are distinguished during the decade of the 1970s, while Peru was under military rule: the reformist phase (1969-1975), the return to orthodoxy (1976-1978) and the institutionalization of stagflation (1979-1980)
