The Missing Link : Organizational Culture As Change Agent

The economy is increasingly influenced by globalization trends, demands of customers for quality, availability and affordability, and constant technology development that improves manufacturing processes and increases efficiency. These factors require from organization constant adaptation of their own structure, ways of doing business, and the people who work in it. There are many tools and techniques for introducing and implementing these changes, however, it seems that any change as small or large as possible can cling to the most important but often neglected factor - workers. Any change, whether it's small or not, necessarily affects all the workers within the organization, and successful change implementation, even at a very small percentage, depends on them. Workers should be the ones who encourage positive changes in the organization. Organization should give them the responsibility to make changes, and to work on personal development not only for the improvement of organization but also for themselves. Organizations should do business in the learning environment, encouraging their employees to take responsibility for their organization's mission compliance and learn the skills and competences that will enable them to diagnose the problem, make the solution and gain the commitment in solving it. The more situations being set up and resolved in this way will make workers feel more capable of accepting and implementing change
