Rezension: Conservative writer Barone offers an optimistic portrayal of the state of immigration in American society. He argues that new groups of immigrants such as Asians, Latinos, and African-Americans (here termed new because they've only recently gained legal equality) can be compared to the older immigrant groups of Jews, Italians, and Irish, respectively. He argues that if these other groups just learn English and assimilate American culture as their metaphorical forebears did, than there are few, if any, barriers to their eventual success in American life.
