The NIEs and the developing Asian and Pacific region : a view from South Asia

The article provides a framework for discussing the relevance of the economic growth experience of the Asian newly industrializing economies (NIEs) to the developing economies in the Asian and Pacific region, with particular reference to certain aspects of the development experience of India.
