The relations among child quality, family structure, and the value of the mother's time in Malaysia

This paper summarizes the results of a study which presents and tests a model of the determinants of child quality and of the value of woman's time. Child quality was measured as the educational attainment of a child relative to the mean education of children of the same age. Variables considered in the determination of child quality were family size, sex composition of the family, sibling order, parents' education, race and urban residence. (DÜI-Sen)
