The role of multipoles in the dielectric anomaly of porous media
The effective polarizability of a brine filled pore in the close vicinity of other pores is strongly enhanced by multipolar interactions. We propose that this enhancement may be an important ingredient to the anomalous low frequency dielectric response of porous rocks and ceramics.
