The solution of heat transfer problems by automated Liebmann networks
A brief outline of the Liebmann method of solving the finite difference form of the heat conduction equation, is combined with some discussion on the relative merits of solution by explicit, implicit and mixed formulations. The main burden of the paper is to record the various techniques the authors have used to automate the voltage transfer function which is kernal to the method, and to indicate how non linear problems can be tackled with facility. It is concluded that despite the power of digital machines, there is still a place for the analogue-simulation techniques.
