Theatre booking system
A computerised reservation system possesses numerous advantages over itsmanual counterpart, but full endorsement by smaller organisations might behampered by the cost factor. This project examines the booking requirements oftheatres, as well as the type of information required by their managers, andincorporates some of the desirable features within a Microsoft Access database.A database has been designed to cater for a 200 seat theatre with a maximum oftwo performances per day. In order to keep costs to a minimum it makes use ofa PC which is practically standard office equipment. The database has beentested, and suggestions on how the specific features of the system could beimproved are made where appropriate. While the system processes managerrequests effectively and provides the treasurer with many advantages comparedto a manual version, more work is required for it to achieve a comparable levelof patron orientated functionality.
