Total and radiative catpure cross section measurements for 238U at GELINA and n_TOF
This report comprises the deliverable D1.8 of the ANDES project (EURATOM contract FP7-249671) of Task 1.2 "High accuracy measurements of neutron capture cross sections" of Work Package 1. This deliverable provides evidence of a successful completion of subtasks 1.2.a and 1.2.c of Task 1.2. The main objective of these subtasks was to obtain accurate capture cross section data (i.e. capture yields) from measurements at the time-of-flight facilities GELINA and n_TOF in response to the Nuclear Data High Priority Request List. The data produced within the ANDES project will be used to produce a new evaluation of the cross section for the neutron induced capture reaction on 238U with an accuracy between 1% - 2% for neutron energies between 22 eV and 25 keV.
