The aim of this paper is to construct a multidimensional poverty indicator, to detect the main poverty risk focuses in Spain. The indicator, which has been developed through a second-order factor analysis, consists of an objective and a subjective part, which incorporate various dimensions such as income, employment, leisure and housing. The results are presented in detail to the enlarged sample of the EUHP 2000 and on a comparative basis between 1994 and 2001. -- multidimensional poverty ; indicator ; factor analysis
