Usage of Case Study Methodology as a Medium of Teaching to Improve the Effectiveness of Pedagogy

Case study as a innovative pedagogy are descriptions of a real life experience, related to the field of study or training, which are used to make points, raise issues or otherwise enhance the participants’ understanding and learning experience. The paper focuses on the importance of using case study methodology in classroom teaching as an innovative teaching pedagogy to sustain interest among students. Based on the one-day workshop on usage of Case Study Methodology conducted by the Post graduate faculty members of IndSearch management Institute for under graduate commerce teachers of different colleges in Ponda, Goa, interviews and survey was conducted to assess the learning and experience gained by the teachers and the trainers. The Case study methodology helped the institute to identify and implement the training effectively. The result from the overall workshop was found to be good as it reflected on better academic performance of the students after case study pedagogy was used in classroom teaching
