Use of radar observation in hydrological and NWP models : gauge-adjustment of radar-based precipitation estimates : review

The COST (European cooperation in the field of scientific and technical research) Action 717 dealing with "Use of Radar Observations in Hydrological and NWP models" involves radar experts, hydrologists and meteorologists from 21 European countries (Rossa 2000). The three working groups within the action are Working Group 1: "Ude of radar data in hydrological models" (Bruen 2000), Working Group 2: "Use of radar data for verification and validation of NWP models" (Frühwald 2000), and Working Group 3: "Using Radar Information for Assimilation into NWP models" (Macpherson 2000).
