Utilization of Packet Tracer for Strengthening Network Security: Methods, Implementation, and Assessment
DHCP servers play a crucial role in dynamically allocating IP addresses and optimizing resource utilization. When a user types a domain name into their web browser, DNS servers translate it into IP addresses and point users to the relevant server. A web server's main job is to store, process, and provide users requested websites or information. In modern network security practices, tools like Cisco Packet Tracer have been implemented to enhance system security. This work discusses the integration of DHCP, DNS, and web servers to fortify network infrastructure. Enforcing strong password policies is essential for preventing unauthorized access and data breaches. Requiring complex passwords strengthens security measures and minimizes vulnerabilities associated with password use. The study also looks at how DNS servers resolve IPv4 addresses and URLs, providing a thorough grasp of internet communication procedures.
