Validity of a generalized Nyquist relation
We assess the validity of a generalized Nyquist relation connecting the imaginary part of the dynamic susceptibility with the fluctuation in the dipole moment. This equation is shown to apply only when the static limit of the dynamic susceptibility is eqaul to the corresponding isothermal susceptibility.
