« Voie large ou voie étroite de l'économie politique ? » : une interrogation toujours pertinente
Toward the end of his academic career Professor L.H. Dupriez, whose memory this volume honors, became increasingly concerned about the way in which the discipline of economics was developing. He rejected a definition of the subject too constrained by methodological strictures and encouraged his contemporaries to adopt a broader conception of economics. Today, both students and the general public are posing similar questions. What is the future of economic thinking? Are economists capable of being both rigorous and relevant, of clarifying the choices that must be made by policy makers, and of contributing to an understanding of the changes that are taking place in our society?
