Workforce goes on and on at Chazbrooks Communications : Work‐life balance policies benefit clients and employees
Purpose – Describes the benefits that UK public‐relations and marketing‐communications company Chazbrooks Communications has gained from its commitment to work‐life balance. Design – Details the comments of managing director Mandy Brooks, a vocal proponent of flexible working for many years. Findings – Reveals how providing employees with a measure of control over when, where and how they work, has led to increased productivity and company loyalty. Highlights the importance of good internal communications and of keeping the technology simple. Practical implications – Argues that the key to successful remote working is making sure that each individual can replicate his or her approach to work from any location. Originality/value – Contends that, with flexible working, a “job for life” can still exist. Enlightened companies can once again make long‐term employment a real possibility.
