Regional Convergence in Latin America
Sutton, Bennett; Lindow, Genevieve; Serra, Maria Isabel; … - International Monetary Fund (IMF) - 2006
This paper presents empirical evidence on convergence of per capita output for regions within six large middle-income Latin American countries: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru. It explores the role played by several exogenous sectoral shocks and differences in steady states...

Heterogeneous Convergence
Young, Andrew; Higgins, Matthew; Levy, Daniel - Volkswirtschaftliche Fakultät, … - 2006
We use US county-level data containing 3,058 cross-sectional observations and 41 conditioning variables to study economic growth and explore possible heterogeneity in growth determination across 32 individual states. Using a 3SLS-IV estimation method, we find that the convergence rates for 32...

Long term international GDP projections
Au Yeung, Wilson; Kouparitsas, Michael; Luu, Nghi; … - Treasury, Government of Australia - 2013
This paper develops a framework for projecting the GDP growth of Australia’s trading partners from 2012 to 2050. The framework draws heavily on the existing conditional growth literature, including long-standing estimates of key convergence parameters. It adds to the large amount of research...

Heterogeneous convergence
Young, Andrew T.; Higgins, Matthew J.; Levy, Daniel - In: Economics Letters 120 (2013) 2, pp. 238-241
We use US county-level data to estimate convergence rates for 22 individual states. We find significant heterogeneity. E.g., the California estimate is 19.9% and the New York estimate is 3.3%. Convergence rates are essentially uncorrelated with income levels.

Long-Term Growth Scenarios
Johansson, Åsa; Guillemette, Yvan; Murtin, Fabrice; … - Economics Department, Organisation de Coopération et … - 2013
This paper presents the results from a new model for projecting growth of OECD and major non-OECD economies over the next 50 years as well as imbalances that arise. A baseline scenario assuming gradual structural reform and fiscal consolidation to stabilise government-debt-to GDP ratios is...

Growth and Convergence across the US: Evidence from County-Level Data
Higgins, Matthew J.; Levy, Daniel; Young, Andrew T. - 2005
We use U.S. county data (3,058 observations) and 41 conditioning variables to study growth and convergence. Using OLS and 3SLS-IV we report on the full sample and metro, non-metro, and 5 regional samples: (1) OLS yields convergence rates around 2 percent; 3SLS yields 6–8 percent; (2)...

Using panel unit root tests to evaluate the income convergence hypothesis in middle East and North Africa countries
Guetat, Imène; Serranito, Francisco - HAL - 2005

Again, during the whole periods, the conditional convergence is accepted for the … convergence and sample bias of the multivariate cointegration techniques.
