Consistent Estimation of Agent-Based Models by Simulated Minimum Distance.
Grazzini, Jakob; Richiardi, Matteo G. - Collegio Carlo Alberto, Università degli Studi di Torino - 2013
Agent-based (AB) models are considered a promising tool for macroeconomic analysis. However, until estimation of AB models become a common practice, they will not get to the center stage of macroeconomics. Two difficulties arise in the estimation of AB models: (i) the criterion function has no...

Consistent estimation of global VAR models
Mutl, Jan - 2009
In this paper, I propose an instrumental variable (IV) estimation procedure to estimate global VAR (GVAR) models and show that it leads to consistent and asymptotically normal estimates of the parameters. I also provide computationally simple conditions that guarantee that the GVAR model is stable.

Estimation of ergodic agent-based models by simulated minimum distance
Grazzini, Jakob; Richiardi, Matteo - In: Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control 51 (2015) C, pp. 148-165
Two difficulties arise in the estimation of AB models: (i) the criterion function has no simple analytical expression, (ii) the aggregate properties of the model cannot be analytically understood. In this paper we show how to circumvent these difficulties and under which conditions ergodic...

The effect of single-axis sorting on the estimation of a linear regression
Schmid, Matthias - 2006
Microaggregation is one of the most important statistical disclosure control techniques for continuous data. The basic principle of microaggregation is to group the observations in a data set and to replace them by their corresponding group means. In this paper, we consider single-axis sorting,...

Instrumental regression in partially linear models
FLORENS, Jean-Pierre; JOHANNES, Jan; VAN BELLEGEM, … - Center for Operations Research and Econometrics (CORE), … - 2006
We consider the semiparametric regression X t +(Z) where and (r and function, and where the variables (X, Z) are endogeneous. We propose necessary and sufficient conditions for the identification of the parameters in the presence of instrumental variables. We also focus on the estimation of . An...

Estimation of a linear regression under microaggregation with the response variable as a sorting variable
Schmid, Matthias; Schneeweiss, Hans - 2005
Microaggregation is one of the most frequently applied statistical disclosure control techniques for continuous data. The basic principle of microaggregation is to group the observations in a data set and to replace them by their corresponding group means. However, while reducing the disclosure...

Analysis of rounded data in mixture normal model
Zhao, Ningning; Bai, Zhidong - In: Statistical Papers 53 (2012) 4, pp. 895-914
Rounding errors have a considerable impact on statistical inferences, especially when the data size is large and the finite normal mixture model is very important in many applied statistical problems, such as bioinformatics. In this article, we investigate the statistical impacts of rounding...
