Existence of monotone equilibria in large double auctions
Barelli, Paulo; Govindan, Srihari - In: Theoretical economics : TE ; an open access journal in … 19 (2024) 2, pp. 565-582
We provide a shorter proof of the main result in Reny and Perry (2006, Econometrica) by establishing a lower semicontinuity property of auctions as the number of traders goes to infinity, leveraging existence of equilibria in the limit auction. Our proof also eliminates two of the assumptions in...

General equilibrium and fixed point theory : a partial survey.
Ben-El-Mechaiekh, Hichem; Bich, Philippe; Florenzano, … - Centre d'Économie de la Sorbonne, Université Paris 1 … - 2009
Focusing mainly on equilibrium existence results, this paper emphasizes the role of fixed point theorems in the development of general equilibrium theory, as well for its standard definition as for some of its extensions.

Dynamics of Rural Water Supply in Coastal Kerala: A Sustainable Development View
Pushpangadan, K; Murugan, G - eSocialSciences - 2008
This paper examines empirically within sustainable development framework the dynamics of coverage in rural drinking water supply of 180 demand-driven schemes from Malappuram, predominantly a coastal district of Kerala State. The methodology for the analysis comprised (i) multidimensional...

An index formula for production economies with externalities
Mandel, Antoine - HAL - 2008
We prove that the degree of the equilibrium correspondence of an economy with increasing returns and external effects is equal to (−1)L−1 where L is the dimension of the space of goods. This allows us to infer existence, finiteness and uniqueness results.

An index formula for production economies with externalities.
Mandel, Antoine - Centre d'Économie de la Sorbonne, Université Paris 1 … - 2007
In this paper we prove an index formula for production economies with externalities. We allow for non-convexities in the production sector and set the firms behavior according to general pricing rules. We derive as corollaries existence of a general equilibrium in such a setting.

Fixed-point-like theorems on subspaces.
Bich, Philippe; Cornet, Bernard - Maison des Sciences Économiques, Université Paris 1 … - 2004
In this paper, we prove a fixed-point-like theorem for multi-valued mappings defined on the finite Cartesian product of Grassmannian manifolds and convex sets. Our result generalizes two different kinds of theorems : the fixed-point-like theorem by Hirsh, Magill, Mas-Colell (1990) or Husseiny,...
