Model-based principal components of correlation matrices
Boik, Robert J. - In: Journal of Multivariate Analysis 116 (2013) C, pp. 310-331
A model for principal components of correlation matrices is proposed. The model satisfies the correlation constraint (i.e., unit valued diagonal elements) as well as optional constraints on eigenvalues and/or eigenvectors. The model yields simplified principal components that retain both...

Implicit Additive Preferences: A Further Generalization of the CES
Preckel, Paul; Hertel, Thomas; Cranfield, John - Department of Agricultural Economics, Purdue University - 2005
The CES is generalized by extension of the work of Hanoch (1975) resulting in implicit, direct and indirect relationships between utility and consumption. Expressions for substitution and income elasticities are developed and observed to be variable, rather than constant as in the CES case.
