Summary: Businesses making part of a group of companies that work internationally are often faced with centralisation of administration for VAT and Customs. Therefore one of the group companies can be instructed to manage the entire administration for all or part of the group companies. During the last years a lot of new “shared service centres” have been created. The main aim is clear: one competence centre, dependent or independent, that deals with all the administrative obligations including VAT, Intrastat and Customs in order to obtain substantial savings.
