Panel Data Analysis Techniques With HILDA Examples - Melbourne Institute of Applied Economic and Social Research
The course will use examples from the Household, Income and Labour Dynamics in Australia (HILDA) Survey and will include a hands-on lab session using Stata. The topics covered include: - Basic introduction to panel data. - Introduction to statistical modelling (within and between group analysis, random effects, endogeneity in the context of linear regression models). - Further modelling techniques, including analysis of categorical / discrete data. Depending on the interest of the group, this may also include attrition and sample selection issues. - Introduction to the HILDA data and documentation (to be presented by Nicole Watson).
