Selected course of the Kiel Institute Advanced Studies Program "Monetary Theory and Policy"
The Kiel Institute offers the possibility of attending selected courses of its Advanced Studies Program. This course (Carl E. Walsh, University of California) focuses on the theoretical foundations of monetary economics and their policy implications, with some attention paid to the models’ empirical foundations and to the models employed for policy analysis. The goal is to investigate what insights research has provided on the monetary transmission mechanism, the impacts of monetary policy, the appropriate objectives of policy, and the interactions between monetary and fiscal policy for policy design.
