The collections of IEEE and 1EC standards have some overlap, but in many cases cover significantly different topics. For example, 1EEE standards go to great depth on environmental qualification of many specific types of components, while IEC covers the topic only at the general level....

It is of course quite impossible for me to speak for all librarians on the subject of ‘What the public librarian wants from computers’, although I think I should not be far wrong in saying that at the present time only a minute proportion of public librarians have given serious consideration...
