This dissertation studies different aspects of organization theory and resource allocation decisions within the household. Each of the three chapters builds a different theoretical model in which different aspects of organizations and the household are analyzed.

In this dissertation, we develop a joint theoretical and empirical analysis of mutual funds trading. In the 1990's the US mutual funds industry has grown at an unprecedented pace. This growth has fueled concerns about the impact of institutional trading on equity returns.
