Das Bundesministerium für Arbeit und Soziales prognostiziert für das Jahr 2045 ein Rentenniveau von 41,6% des Durchschnittslohns, zurzeit sind es 47,8%. Ein Halten auf gegenwärtigem Niveau wird als unfinanzierbar angesehen. Eine Abschaffung der Riester- und Rürup-Rente könnte das Rentenniveau jedoch wieder deutlich anheben.
